For the first time in the last ten years, specialists from the Magadan branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) have resumed work interrupted in 2015 on monitoring the downstream migration of Pacific salmon juveniles in the rivers of Shelikhov Bay.
At the initiative of the Vologda branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO), since 2014, events on the artificial reproduction of rare and vulnerable fish species have been carried out in the region on an ongoing basis using funds from compensation measures for damage caused to aquatic bioresources by economic activities.
From April 14 to May 8, specialists from the Central Institute of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) and its Polar Branch A.V. Labutin and N.N. Lukin took part in the third comprehensive expedition to the islands of the Franz Josef Land archipelago.

The first sturgeon graduation

On May 7, at the Scientific and Experimental Aquaculture Complex "BIOS" of the Volga-Caspian branch of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), with the participation of the commission monitoring the implementation of work on the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources, the first release of sturgeon juveniles this year was carried out.
