Standardization in the fishing industry has a rich history. National Technical Committee 300 "Fish products, food, feed, technical and packaging" was created in 1991 on the basis of VNIRO by the order of the USSR State Committee for Product Quality Management and Standards and the USSR Ministry of Fisheries. Subsequently, TC 300 was reorganized into an interstate technical committee for standardization and began to conduct international activities.
In 2024, the technical committee team became a laureate of the public award "Standardizer of the Year-2024" in the nomination "For practical contribution to the development of standards of great economic and social importance".
