Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences addressed the participants of the conference with welcoming words.
"The change in the geopolitical space has given impetus to serious transformational processes and actualized a number of global problems that require timely and competent solutions. In this context, the synergy of research experience in the applied and academic fields of scientific knowledge is of undoubted value. The Russian Academy of Sciences has a long history of fruitful cooperation with VNIRO, and today's conference is a bright continuation of it," Nikolay Dolgushkin, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, opened the conference, wishing all its participants successful creative searches.Vyacheslav Rozhnov, Director of the Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in his speech paid attention to the topic of ecologization of the economy and mentioned the joint work of VNIRO and RAS scientists to solve serious environmental problems in the Caspian, Baltic and other areas experiencing serious anthropogenic stress.
Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nabi Avarsky noted the significant role of the development of sectoral economic research conducted by specialists of the VNIRO Center for Economic Research of Fisheries, which serves as the foundation for the establishment of the Institute as an authoritative state scientific center.
The report of Kirill Kolonchin, Director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography, reviewed the key principles of improving the work of the fisheries industry in the context of the implementation of national goals of the domestic economy.
"It is impossible to deny the social component of the sustainable development of the agro-food sector of our country. Food security and improving the standard of living of the population are the main guidelines in the work of industry economists. A confident strategy for the growth of the fisheries complex in all its areas will be ensured by the introduction of effective economic and organizational management mechanisms," the Director of VNIRO emphasized.
The final day of the conference was marked by productive work within the framework of thematic round tables.
The participants of the round table "Biology, stocks and prospects of fishing for aquatic biological resources" discussed the results of resource research, issues of commercial fish farming and prospects for the development of aquaculture in different regions of the country.
Modern methods of processing aquatic biological resources, updating of technical standards, innovative technologies for the production of fish food products are an incomplete range of topics covered during the round table "Production of fish products: technologies, standardization, rationing".
