The main issue on the agenda was the consideration of forecasting the commercial approaches of Pacific salmon and the scheme for the placement of salmon hatcheries in the Far Eastern fishery basin.
Vsevolod Leman, Head of the Salmon Reproduction Department at VNIRO, presented a report on the biological justification for the creation of the Opala River fishery reserve zone, and Nikolai Myuge, Head of the Molecular Genetics Department at VNIRO, told the council participants about the program for developing the Center for Trout Genomic Selection at VNIRO.
At the end of the Academic Council, there was an active discussion of the presented reports. The participants of the event asked numerous questions, to which comprehensive answers were given.
