Activities for artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources

In the Saratov region, measures aimed at restoring aquatic biological resources in accordance with the state policy in the field of environmental safety are being implemented.

Sterlet juveniles are grown in conditions close to their natural habitat. Healthy and viable individuals are released into water bodies in special vehicles equipped with oxygenation and troughs for safe movement.

On June 20, 5,378 young sterlet of the Volga population were released into the waters of the Volgograd Reservoir near the city of Balakovo.

The release of the juveniles was carried out under the supervision of the Commission of the Volga-Kama Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, which monitors the implementation of work on the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources in accordance with the order of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, which included specialists from the Saratov branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).
