An exhibition in honor of the 75th anniversary of Oleg Betin's birth was opened in Tambov

 

The exhibits were assembled from memorable gifts, documents, a collection of welcome addresses and other materials that helped the guests of the exhibition trace the socio-political path of the former governor.

 

Oleg Ivanovich Betin (08/25/1950 - 06/17/2023) is a respected mentor and outstanding scientist, director of the Center for Economic Research of Fisheries of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).

 

Oleg Ivanovich came to VNIRO in 2020 and immediately demonstrated his professionalism and competence. On his initiative and with his direct participation, the Center for Economic Research of Fisheries, the section of the Academic Council of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "VNIRO" on economics were created, and specialized postgraduate and doctoral programs were opened.

 

Having headed the Center for Economic Research of Fisheries, Oleg Ivanovich organized fundamental scientific research on economic problems that had not been previously conducted at VNIRO.

 

Oleg Ivanovich Betin's activities covered many areas of VNIRO's functioning. He always delved deeply into each task. At the same time, Oleg Ivanovich was distinguished by his responsiveness, good nature and willingness to come to the aid of colleagues, supporting them with advice and sharing his rich life experience.

 

In 2024, by decision of the VNIRO team, supported by the institute's management, the research vessel of the Azov-Black Sea branch of VNIRO, which carries out research in the Azov and Black Seas, was named "Oleg Betin" as recognition of Oleg Ivanovich's merits for the fishing industry and science.
