Director of VNIRO met with the staff of the Sakhalin branch

 

Kirill Kolonchin said that regular meetings have become a good tradition. In 2024, he met with the team twice at the Sakhalin branch. Such meetings help to better understand what the team lives by, what issues worry and what is important for the employees.

 

Further, Kirill Kolonchin emphasized that the most significant event of the past year was the assignment of the status of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation to VNIRO. Out of more than 1,700 research organizations operating in Russia, VNIRO became the 45th to be awarded this high status. The Institute is the only agricultural research institute and scientific institution to become a State Research Center of the Russian Federation. This is an indicator of the importance of the work carried out by industry science for the state. This trust must be justified by the results of the work.

 

He also spoke about some of the plans for the current year.

 

 

Then Kirill Kolonchin recalled the anniversary - the 100th anniversary of the Pacific branch of VNIRO, in connection with which a monument to Alexander Akimovich Ishkov, the Minister of the Fishing Industry, who devoted his life to its development and formation, will be erected in Vladivostok as part of the celebration of this event. Under him, the domestic fishing fleet entered the ocean expanses and took a confident place in the top three leading countries in terms of production.
