Observations on the state of the gammarid population in the lakes of the Omsk region

From June 30 to July 7, specialists from the Novosibirsk branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted studies of gammarid stocks in the water bodies of the Omsk Region (Lake Trauly, Lake Gorchakovo, Lake Suras, Lake Bestolkovoe, Lake Butakovskoye, Lake Akul, Lake Arapovo). The total area of the water bodies was more than 551 hectares.

The aim of the research was to study the state of the populations and assess the stocks of gammarids. The dynamics of abiotic factors (temperature, depth of the reservoir, water transparency, salinity, dissolved oxygen content in the water) were tracked.

During the trip, hydrobiological and hydrochemical material was collected; in total, more than 30 hydrobiological samples were collected during the expedition trip.

The collected material is currently undergoing office processing.
