Recording of migrating juveniles

Researchers from the salmonid fish laboratory of the Sakhalin branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) continue monitoring work to count the migrating juveniles of pink salmon and chum salmon on the rivers of the Sakhalin-Kuril region.

The objectives of this stage of work are to monitor the timing and hydrological conditions of the migration of fish of natural origin, as well as to assess their numbers in the main watercourses of the Sakhalin region.

The information obtained in the course of the above-mentioned work will form the basis for calculating the return of Pacific salmon producers in 2025.
