The structure of the catch is as follows: sockeye salmon 444 tons or 94.3%, masu salmon - 5 tons (1.1%), chinook salmon - 21 tons (4.5%), chum salmon - 1 ton (0.01%), pink salmon - 0.16 tons (0.03%). It should be noted that the catch of sockeye salmon and chinook salmon over the past weekend amounted to 256 and 8 tons, respectively.
In the main fishing areas of Alaska, the catch for the 23rd week of the current year amounted to 0.438 million fish and is only 8 million less than in 2024 and 314 million less than in 2023. The fishery is based on sockeye salmon and chum salmon.
In accordance with the regional Fishery Strategy and the decision of the Commission for the Regulation of the Extraction (Catch) of Anadromous Fish Species in Kamchatka Krai, fishermen from the Vyvenka River, Yelizovsky District, Kronotsky Bay and the rivers flowing into it have already joined the fishery, and from June 10 they will begin fishing on the river. Apuk and from June 15 in Olyutorsky, Karaginsky, Ust-Kamchatsky (RLU No. 865 (Ozernaya River), marine RLU No. 278, 279 (Ozernaya Bay) districts.
In the Sakhalin Region, amateur fishing for masu salmon started on June 5 in licensed areas in the Nogliki District - the Val River and the Smirnykhovsky District - the Langeri River.
Specialists in industry science have already begun scientific support for the fishing season in the regions. The census of Pacific salmon during their pre-anadromous migration is carried out by two research vessels, TINRO and Kaganovsky, and will last from June 3 to July 3.
