Scientists estimate the stocks of northern shrimp in the Sea of Okhotsk

The work is planned to be carried out in the North Okhotsk subzone from January to February 2023 at the Krevetkolov - Ossora STR. An employee of the Magadan branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO, a subordinate institution of Rosrybolovstvo) will monitor the industrial fishing of northern shrimp in the Sea of Okhotsk.
Scientific support of the fishery provides for the collection of information on the biology and spatial distribution of the northern shrimp.
 
The obtained materials will be used in the preparation of forecasts of the total allowable catch (ODE) of the northern shrimp of the North Okhotsk Sea subzone, as well as for the development of recommendations for the rational exploitation of its stocks.
