Scientists from the Sakhalin branch of VNIRO conduct observations on the navazh'yey putin

The navaga fishing season has started in Sakhalin. The "big fishing" is in full swing in Terpeniya Bay. The fishery is carried out with twin trawls by a small fleet.

After delivery to the shore, the fish is frozen naturally in open areas. The result is the so-called "voroshonka". After freezing, the navaga is packed into bags and sent to consumers.

Employees of the laboratory of marine and freshwater fish of the Sakhalin branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) are at the fishery, measuring and analyzing the fish. The research data is necessary for preparing a catch forecast for 2026.
