The conference will last 2 days and will bring together scientists from VNIRO, the Russian Academy of Sciences, specialists from leading research institutes and educational institutions in Russia and other countries.
The head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Ilya Shestakov addressed the participants with words of greeting. He stressed that fisheries science has become a multidisciplinary discipline that integrates various areas of research and develops innovative solutions for the transformation of the Russian fisheries complex.
"Participation in the conference is a great opportunity for fruitful scientific communication and the birth of bold research ideas. There is a multifaceted and rich agenda ahead, which covers topical issues of scientific knowledge, as well as issues of the formation of the economic ecosystem of the fisheries complex," said Kirill Kolonchin, Director of VNIRO, wishing the conference participants productive work and constructive discussions.
The mechanisms of digitalization, the tasks of agri-food logistics, the patterns of the impact of climate change on the dynamics of the catch of aquatic biological resources - these and other topics were discussed at the meeting that opened the conference.
Attention was also paid to discussing the prospects of scientific cooperation between VNIRO scientists and their foreign colleagues in the field of preserving the biodiversity of the Caspian Sea: programs for the restoration of the population of the Caspian seal and sturgeon species of fish.
Within the framework of the conference, round tables will be held on scientific support of fishing activities, the economics of the fisheries complex, as well as technological aspects of the production of fish products.
