VNIRO specialists took part in the 33rd session of the Joint Russian-Chinese Commission on Cooperation in the Field of Fisheries

Head of the Khabarovsk branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) Denis Kotsyuk and Deputy Head of the Pacific branch Denis Kiku took part in the 33rd session of the Joint Russian-Chinese Commission on Cooperation in Fisheries from March 17 to 21, which was held in Kunming (China).
 
The working group of the Commission on scientific and technical cooperation in fisheries between Russian and Chinese scientists was heated. Traditionally, the participants of the scientific group discussed the conservation of sturgeon stocks and autumn chum salmon in the border waters of the Amur and Ussuri rivers. The Chinese side expressed a desire to begin cooperation in the field of aquaculture between institutions of Jilin Province (China) and enterprises of Primorsky Krai (Russia). Russian scientists expressed a desire to increase cooperation in the field of aquaculture.
 
The Parties discussed a separate issue on participation in conferences, exhibitions and seminars held by each Party, including the III International Scientific and Practical Conference and the V School of Young Scientists and Specialists of VNIRO “Fisheries Science in the 21st Century: Key Development Directions”, as well as the VIII GLOBAL FISHERY FORUM & SEAFOOD EXPO RUSSIA exhibition of the fishing industry, seafood and technologies.
 
A protocol was signed following the work of the Commission.
