The topic of applied scientific research "Genetic and genomic studies of Pacific salmon" was highlighted by Nikolai Muge, Director of the Department of Genomic Breeding.

The chief specialist of the Pacific Salmon Department, Maryana Plaksina, presented the manuscript of the monograph "Fauna and ecology of helminth communities of pelagic and bottom-pelagic fish of the Crimean coast (Black and Azov Seas)".

The paper presents data on the modern fauna of helminths of pelagic and bottom-pelagic fish studied in the Azov-Black Sea region off the coast of Crimea. For the first time, a comprehensive analysis of the diversity and structure of the infrasociety and component communities of helminths of pelagic and bottom-pelagic fish in the coastal marine areas of the Crimea has been carried out. It has been established that rare species occur in the studied infrasociety, as a rule, together with the dominant species in the communities. The members of the Academic Council proposed to recommend the submitted manuscript for publication.
