Andrey Konstantinovich worked at the branch for 26 years: he published more than 100 scientific papers, participated in the creation of specialized books and atlases, was a member of the editorial board of the Institute and a reviewer of the journal Marine Biology. His research and expeditions have formed a valuable scientific base on the invertebrates of Sakhalin‑The Kuril region. Colleagues noted in him a rare combination of curiosity, thirst for knowledge and the ability to energize others.
The scientist's life tragically ended 12 years ago in the French Alps — he was only 53 years old.
The exhibition presents scientific works, local history books, photographs, as well as Andrey Klitin's unique collections: entomological (more than 11 thousand copies) and samples of the inhabitants of the depths of the sea. The exhibition is a tribute to the multifaceted researcher, whose legacy continues to inspire new generations of scientists.
