In the Meshinsky Bay of the Kuibyshev reservoir and in the adjacent water area of the Volga‑A quantitative and qualitative accounting of juvenile fish was carried out using a juvenile travois.
During the work, key environmental parameters were recorded daily — temperature and water quality, weather conditions. The water level in the reservoir turned out to be higher than the average annual values and exceeded the indicators of 2025 by 20-25 cm: because of this, numerous shallow waters remained flooded in the fall, which has a beneficial effect on the survival of juveniles.
The research covered 17 monitoring stations in a water area of about 94 km2. The catches were dominated by juvenile perch, roach and bleak; for the first time, juveniles of the Czech Republic were found in significant numbers.
The results of the autumn survey confirmed the conclusions of the spring‑summer studies: the spawning of commercial fish species in the Kuibyshev reservoir in 2026 was effective.
