During the meeting, Kirill Viktorovich congratulated all employees on receiving the prestigious Order of Honor "For Contribution to the Development of the Fisheries Industry and Achievements in Scientific Research" from the VNIRO team.
"This recognition of the professional qualities of our large VNIRO team testifies to our significant contribution to the development of the fisheries industry, which plays a vital role in maintaining our country's food security, preserving aquatic biological resources, and improving the quality of life for the population," the VNIRO Director noted.
Kirill Viktorovich discussed the results of the Great African Expedition and planned events dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Russian fisheries science, and also answered questions from branch employees. The team's most important topics were discussed during the lively discussion.
Kamchatka is rightfully considered the country's main fishery, currently accounting for almost a third of the national catch. Sustainable harvesting of fish, invertebrates, and other aquatic organisms is largely due to the efforts of scientists at the Kamchatka branch of VNIRO, whose work is aimed at ensuring rational and efficient harvesting in the region.
