The length of the route was about 230 km. The research was conducted at six hydrobiological stations covering riverbed and flowing sections of the river.
The scientists measured the temperature and transparency of the water, assessed the dissolved oxygen content, collected samples of zooplankton, zoobenthos, and phytoplankton, and performed hydrochemical analyses. During the observations, the water level decreased from 161 to 130 cm, and its temperature remained at around +21 °C.
To assess fish stocks, experts conducted control fishing in various ways: they used fixed gill nets, seine nets, spinning rods and bottom fishing rods. In small—scale nets, roach and bleak were most often caught, less often ruff, river perch and ide (fingerlings). Crucian carp, pike, and river perch predominated in the medium-sized basins, while catches in the large-scale (65 mm) basins were almost zero. Spinning was mainly used to catch pike, and bottom fishing rods showed the most diverse species richness — crucian carp, bream, roach, carp and ide appeared in the catches. Scientists also recorded the activity of fishing enthusiasts.
All collected materials have been transferred to the branch for detailed processing. The data will help analyze the distribution, abundance, and reproduction of the Ob River's aquatic biological resources, as well as the features of their habitat in 2026, and will form the basis for a catch forecast for 2028.
