India – a new vector of development

As part of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev's official visit to India, Ilya Shestakov, Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, met with Sagar Mehra, Secretary General of the Indian Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, on September 25. The meeting was attended by a representative of the Russian State Research Center "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).
 
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on the need to prepare and sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.
 
In addition, talks were held with the Deputy Director of the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute of the Republic of India. During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the structure of the two countries' research institutes, their main goals and objectives, research areas, the number of researchers employed, the methods used, the equipment used, research training, and interactions with the institutes' regional branches.
 
To establish cooperation, it was determined that an exchange of official letters was necessary, along with a series of thematic videoconferences to determine the details.
