The conference, dedicated to the memory of renowned Kamchatka scientist Robert Moiseyev, whose research in ecology, demography, and strategic planning formed the basis of many modern scientific works, was held in early December in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
This large-scale regional event has proven itself to be an effective dialogue between scientists, experts, and representatives of various industries involved in the development of the Far East. The conference featured discussion panels on current development issues in the Russian Far East and the Arctic, and the development of areas for improving scientific and practical work in the areas of economics and strategic management of northern territories, regional environmental management and sustainable development, protecting the interests of indigenous peoples of the North, and engaging residents in regional development projects.
Scientists from the branch presented their papers in the section "The Far East and Arctic: Implementing the Concept of Sustainable Development": Andrey Matveyev, a senior researcher at the Marine Fish Laboratory, presented a paper on "Commercial Resources of Pacific Cod in Russian Waters of the Far Eastern Seas," and Grigory Morozov, a researcher at the Marine Fish Laboratory, presented a poster paper on "Dynamics of Laminaria Algae Stocks on the Commander Islands for the Period 2016-2024."
The branch's Publishing Department also introduced conference participants to the branch's scientific and popular science publications.
