The resource base of commercial invertebrates in ten water bodies in the southern Tyumen Region was studied. Their total area exceeded 15 km².
Aleksey Gerasimov and Ilya Nechayev, specialists from the specialized laboratory, collected over 70 hydrobiological samples and recorded the habitat conditions of the studied groups of organisms in each water body. Furthermore, to improve the accuracy of forecasts, studies of benthic gammarids and their vertical distribution under ice continued this year.
All samples were delivered to the institute's laboratories for further office processing. The next field trip to survey gammarids and chironomids will take place in early March; studies are planned for water bodies in the Kurgan Region.
