Integrated water resource management is often associated with changes in established fish habitats and disruption of the complex reproduction mechanism of fish stocks.
Under modern conditions, this concept encompasses not only natural population formation processes but also human intervention, facilitating these processes at the most vulnerable stages to increase fish productivity in water bodies.
To compensate for the damage caused to aquatic biological resources and their habitats, at the Saratov branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), in the presence of members of the Commission overseeing the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources, feeding ponds were fished and juvenile carp were released into the Volgograd Reservoir.
Artificial reproduction will reduce the impact of anthropogenic pressure and maintain the carp population in the Volgograd Reservoir.
