Monitoring studies at water bodies were conducted in two stages: before the works (summer) and during the impact period (fall and winter). Thus, a total of approximately 150 hydrobiological samples were collected to assess the status of the ichthyofauna's food supply.
Hydrobiologists from the branch are currently conducting laboratory analysis of the collected material (phytoplankton, zooplankton, and zoobenthos). Based on the analysis of the obtained data, the taxonomic composition of planktonic flora and fauna, as well as benthic invertebrates, will be determined, as well as an assessment of their quantitative development and the impact of ongoing hydrotechnical works on biodiversity and the abundance of aquatic organisms.
