The work was carried out as part of a state assignment to assess the state of aquatic biological resources in the Abakan River and its tributaries.
During the fieldwork, researchers surveyed five streams in the Yenisei River basin. They collected ichthyological material and hydrobiological samples, and measured key fish habitat parameters, such as water temperature, transparency, dissolved oxygen concentration, and pH.
To obtain reliable data, test fishing was carried out using nets and hooks.
The Abakan River and its tributaries are home to taimen, lenok, and grayling, whose populations are subject to high anthropogenic pressure. The results of the research will allow them to assess the state of aquatic biological resources and take measures to conserve and restore their stocks.
