Summing up the results at the Ural branch of VNIRO

The results of the 2025 work of the Ural branch of the Russian State Research Center "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) have been summarized.
 
The most significant research projects were conducted to determine the impact of economic activity on the aquatic biological resources of the Reftinskoye and Beloyarskoye Reservoirs, as well as to study the status of the vendace population and its food supply in the fish farming area of ​​the Nizhne-Kachkanarskoye Reservoir.
 
In 2025, the number of surveyed sites and work within state commissions was increased, including on the release of aquatic biological resources into reservoirs, assessment, and the inspection of aquaculture facilities.
 
Specialists actively participate in various conferences, including international ones, and publish the results of their research.
 
The research identified five invasive zooplankton species, and 19 species and two varieties of algae new to the algal flora of the Sverdlovsk Region were identified among the phytoplankton. Prospects for further growth are outlined.
 
At the end of the event, branch manager Kirill Ershov congratulated everyone on the awarding of the Order of Honor to the VNIRO team. This prestigious state award symbolizes recognition of the institute's long-standing efforts and achievements in scientific research and the development of the country's fisheries industry.
