The key topic was the environmental situation in the Kizel coal basin (Kizel Basin). Due to the overflow of mine waters, the rivers and lakes of the region were heavily polluted: the maximum permissible concentration was exceeded, for example, for iron up to 1147 maximum permissible concentration, aluminum up to 100 maximum permissible concentration.
Alla Gennadievna presented a research program: within its framework, it is planned to establish new regional water quality standards for the tributaries of the Kama (Yayva, Kosva, Chusovaya). A research methodology has already been developed and sampling points have been identified.
The forum also discussed the improvement of legislation in the mineral resources industry and the balance between the development of mining and the conservation of the region's biodiversity.
