The event was attended by Maxim Uvaidov, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Ilya Shestakov, Head of Rosrybolovstvo, representatives of aquaculture enterprises and feed producers. The Scientific Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) was presented at the conference by Kirill Kolonchin, Director, Doctor of Economics.
Aquaculture in Russia is becoming an increasingly important part of the agricultural sector, and science plays a key role in its development. As the head of Rosrybolovstvo noted, the industry should move from expanding areas to intensive cultivation technologies — this is the next step for Russian aquaculture. This approach implies not only an increase in production volumes, but also a more rational use of available resources.
Sustainable development of aquaculture is possible only with a comprehensive combination of scientific research, technological innovation and the expansion of species diversity. In the future, this industry can strengthen the country's food security and create new jobs.
