The Pacific branch of VNIRO congratulated the Maritime University on its anniversary

 

On November 14, 2025, the direct successor to the Alexander Classes, the Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy Maritime State University, celebrated the 135th anniversary of its founding with a celebratory event.

 

Cadets, students, faculty, staff, and veterans of the university, graduates from various years, representatives of the Vladivostok administration and Duma, the Primorsky Krai Legislative Assembly, leaders and staff of specialized maritime organizations, and representatives of Vladivostok universities gathered in the assembly hall of the Maritime University's Far Eastern Maritime Training Center. Many warm words were exchanged from the stage. Many of the distinguished guests were themselves former cadets or employees of the legendary "bursa"—the main source of personnel for the Far East's maritime infrastructure.

 

Also attending the commemorative event was Alexey Buyakov, Advisor to the Deputy Director and Head of the Pacific Branch of the Russian State Research Center "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), whose ten years of work experience are associated with the Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy Far Eastern Higher Marine Engineering School (FEHMEMS)—Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy Moscow State University.

 

In his congratulatory address, Alexey Mikhailovich noted that the VNIRO Pacific Branch and the Maritime University enjoy strong friendships and professional ties: many graduates of the Maritime University have contributed to the study of the Far Eastern seas by working on research vessels.

 

At the request of Alexey Baitaluk, Deputy Director and Head of the Pacific Branch of VNIRO, the Maritime University was presented with the book "TINRO: 50 + 50," published for the institute's 100th anniversary. A.M. Buyakov expressed confidence that the friendship between our organizations will only grow stronger and wished Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy Moscow State University continued progress, the achievement of all its goals, and fair winds in its sails.
