Over the course of three days, more than 100 young civil servants, scientists, and employees of budgetary organizations in the fisheries sector from all over the country took part in an educational intensive prepared specifically for the youth of Rosrybolovstvo. The congress program included not only lectures and training sessions but also joint work on projects within the framework of a strategic workshop. In the future, this will help young people make independent decisions, distribute responsibility, and achieve results.
Ilya Shestakov, head of Rosrybolovstvo, addressed the event participants with a welcoming speech: “The industry is currently undergoing large‑scale modernization. New vessels and processing plants are being built, modern technologies are being introduced, and aquaculture and logistics are developing.” Of course, technology alone doesn’t solve anything — we need people who are ready to work with it, drive the industry forward, and take responsibility. For those who choose this path, we create opportunities for professional development, offer decent working conditions, and provide career prospects.”
The educational marathon included lectures and training sessions from leading experts: Alexey Panov, head of the Department of Legal Support, Public Service, and Personnel at Rosrybolovstvo, delivered a lecture on meritocracy as a driver of professional growth; training sessions were held on professional development and the art of public speaking.
During the Strategic Session, the teams generated ideas, developed roadmaps, and prepared project solutions. The result was the presentation of the projects before an expert commission headed by Mikhail Ivanik, Deputy Head of Rosrybolovstvo. The experts noted the high level of preparation and the practical significance of the presented initiatives. Thanks to joint work in this format, not only stable business connections are formed, but also a talent pool for the industry. The event, which is being held for the second time in Nizhny Novgorod, has become a unique platform for learning and exchanging experience, views, and acquiring new knowledge by young people.
During the conclusion of the congress, Pavel Emelin, Deputy Chairman of the Youth Council of Rosrybolovstvo and Leading Specialist of the Far East Marine Fish Department at VNIRO, was awarded a letter of thanks from the Federal Agency for Fisheries for his assistance in organizing the event “Fishing of the Peoples of Russia: History and Modernity,” which was held to mark the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia..
