Veliky Novgorod summed up the work of the fisheries complex and defined tasks for 2026

A meeting of the Regional Fisheries Council was held in Veliky Novgorod, chaired by Oleg Shakhov, Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region.
 
The key topics of the meeting were summarizing the work of the industry in 2025 and planning activities for the future. Marina Melnik, Head of the St. Petersburg branch, and Elena Vasilyeva, head of the supervised Novgorod branch, took part in the meeting on behalf of the SSC RF "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).
 
During the meeting, reports on the results of the operation of the regional fisheries complex in the past year were heard. Special attention was paid to the results of scientific research carried out on the water bodies of the region. The participants discussed the current stock status and current monitoring data.
 
As a result of the council's work, the main tasks for 2026 were agreed, aimed at further developing the region's fisheries industry and the rational use of water resources.
