VNIRO Academic Council Meeting

On April 9, an expanded meeting of the Academic Council was held in the Large Assembly Hall of the Central Institute of the Scientific Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), chaired by Kirill Kolonchin, Director, Doctor of Economics, in combination with a meeting of the Branch Council.
 
The main issue on the agenda was the consideration of materials justifying the projected production (catch) of Pacific salmon in the internal waters of the Russian Federation and in the territorial sea of the Russian Federation in the Russian Far East in 2026.
 
Olga Maznikova, Director of the Department of Anadromous Fish of Russia, presented data on fishing areas and relevant indicators and reported that the total catch of Pacific salmon by industry experts is justified at the level of 227 thousand tons.
 
Also, the members of the Council were presented for approval: the topic of the doctoral dissertation of the president of the NGO "VARPE" Herman Zverev and the approval of the scientific consultant, Doctor of Economics Kirill Kolonchin.
