VNIRO and DVNIGMI discussed promising areas of cooperation

On March 13, a working meeting was held between the heads and leading specialists of the Pacific branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) and the Far Eastern Hydrometeorological Institute (DVNIGMI).
The initiative of both research institutes involves exploring the possibility of developing a joint research program.

During the meeting, the parties presented an overview of the current activities of each research institute and outlined promising areas of interdisciplinary, integrated research of mutual interest.

The discussion focused on issues related to the impact of hydrometeorological factors and climate change on aquatic bioresources and their habitats, as well as opportunities for coordinating expeditionary research, using research infrastructure, and exchanging data.

Following the meeting, a decision was made to form a joint working group consisting of specialists from the two research institutes.

The group's main task will be to develop specific proposals and draft a joint research program within the framework of collaboration between VNIRO and the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet).
