Seminar participants attended lectures on national policy, the strategy for developing green and low-carbon aquaculture in China, innovative aquaculture models in the context of global climate change, freshwater mollusc farming models, work in breeding and genetics, the current state and development trends of the compound feed industry, and environmental technology systems in aquaculture. Following the lectures, discussions and exchanges of opinions with the instructors were held. Of particular interest were the lecture and practical lesson on pearl culture, during which participants learned about the biotechnology of pearl culture and practiced introducing a provocateur to produce pearls from mollusks.
There were also field trips to fish farms producing black and white carp, silver carp, carp, aukha perch, and the river crab, a popular species in China, where local fish farmers explained in detail how they conduct aquaculture for these species. Of particular interest was a visit to Bühler, one of the largest feed equipment manufacturers, where the seminar participants spoke with the company's general manager, Tau Shaohua, who provided a detailed explanation of the production technology.
Throughout the week, Seminar participants actively interacted with specialists from the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences and practicing fish farmers, exchanging opinions and experiences in various areas of aquaculture.
Ahead are Harbin, Mudanjiang, and Suihua, where lectures, discussions, practical training, and experience sharing with specialists from the People's Republic of China are planned.
