VNIRO Director held a meeting with the staff of the Southern Branch

On May 4, Kirill Kolonchin, Director of the SSC RF "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), Doctor of Economics, visited the Southern Branch of VNIRO and held a meeting with the staff.
 
Kirill Viktorovich congratulated the staff on the fact that the VNIRO team was awarded the Order of Honor for their significant contribution to the development of the fisheries industry and achievements in research activities. He stressed that this is an important award that reflects the professional qualities of all the institute's staff and the importance of their work for the development of the industry.
 
The Director of VNIRO also proudly announced that for the first time since 1991, the scientific fleet of the Institute had been replenished with a new research vessel, the Vikenty Zaitsev, designed to operate on Lake Baikal. According to Kirill Viktorovich, the design of this vessel will become the basis for the construction of research vessels for all Russian fisheries basins, including the Azov-Black Sea basin.
 
The meeting also discussed the importance of digitalization of fisheries research and the use of artificial intelligence to predict stocks of aquatic biological resources. Arsen Mirzoyan, Deputy Director and Head of the VNIRO Southern Branch, spoke about the latest digital projects developed by the branch's scientists.
 
At the end of the meeting, Kirill Viktorovich congratulated the staff of the Southern Branch on the upcoming Great Victory Day and wished everyone good health, success and good mood.
