The scientists set up grid arrangements with meshes from 40 to 80 mm to track where semi-aquatic and riverine fish are kept and weighed. The catches turned out to be diverse — a total of 12 species were recorded. The distribution pattern turned out to be interesting: in the avandelt of the Gandurinsky bank, crucian carp were most often found, while rudd and perch followed. Carp became the leader at Kirovsky Bank, followed by perch and crucian carp. In the river zone, grouper was best caught, and there were also carp, walleye, bream, whitefish and other species, although this was a rare occurrence.
In addition to taking into account the species composition, the experts studied the biological characteristics of the fish in detail: they determined the size and weight of the catches, assessed the stage of maturity of the gonads. At the same time, parasitological material was collected and processed, which helps to more accurately assess the condition and quality of aquatic biological resources.
A separate block of work was compiled by the route accounting of fishing enthusiasts. In ten days, scientists have recorded more than 120 fishermen on the shores and over 80 small vessels — these data are also important for a comprehensive picture of the use of reservoirs.
The collected materials will form the basis for forecasting fish stocks, help calculate the volume of allowable catch and form recommendations for catching semi-aquatic and riverine species.
