The Professionals Championship is a key event in the field of secondary vocational education, aimed at increasing the prestige of working professions and providing the economy with young qualified personnel, in which all universities subordinate to Rosrybolovstvo actively participate. Competitions are held in a wide range of competencies reflecting the current needs of the Russian fisheries industry.
Specialists from the St. Petersburg branch of the SSC RF "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), Alexander Dudin, head of the fish diseases sector, and Marina Etylina, a leading specialist at the aquaculture laboratory, were invited by the organizers of the event as experts in key fisheries competencies: "Cultivation of planting materials and commercial fish" and "Technical support for fish farming". within the framework of which students show skills in calculating the amount of compound feed, simulating the straining of caviar, insemination, therapeutic treatment of fish, and checking the quality of caviar., working with binoculars and other instruments. The participation of employees of VNIRO's St. Petersburg branch has become an important condition for ensuring the objectivity of judging and the recognition of competition results by the professional community.
Following the judging process, the branch's specialists received certificates from industrial experts and were awarded commendations from the Education Committee of the Government of St. Petersburg and the Department of State Policy in Secondary Vocational Education and Vocational Training of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation for their practical contribution to objective judging, as well as to the development of human resources for the fisheries sector.
