Ichthyological and hydrobiological data were collected to monitor the status of aquatic biological resources and their habitats, as well as to assess and predict changes in the biological status, abundance, distribution, and reproduction of aquatic biological resources in the Pechora River basin. During the cruise, fixed and drift nets with various meshes, as well as a cast seine, were used. Mass measurements of fish were taken, and samples were collected for biological analysis.
The catches were dominated by carp species, whose share in the ichthyofauna has been steadily increasing in recent years. Roach was the most common species, with members of the whitefish family observed in small numbers. Catch rates of young-of-the-year whitefish were quite high. Analysis of the perch's diet revealed a variety of species, including lamprey, juvenile pike, and white salmon. During the survey, widespread blue-green algae blooms and water blooms were observed in some areas.
