VNIRO specialists have begun autumn monitoring studies

 

The expedition aims to conduct comprehensive ichthyological, hydrobiological, and hydrochemical studies on the Saratov and Volgograd reservoirs. The planned voyage duration is over two weeks.

 

To assess the food supply and habitat of aquatic organisms, hydrological measurements and hydrobiological and hydrochemical sampling will be conducted at designated transects. The population status of commercial fish species will be assessed using a trawl.

 

Based on the data obtained, an assessment of aquatic biological resources and their habitat will be conducted, which will subsequently allow for the determination of the total allowable catch and recommended catch.
