Key Aspects of Robust Fish Stock Assessment: with 5 Tables and 36 Figures

Modern tendencies and approaches in robust statistics are considered from point of view of their applicability to fish stock assessment. Examples of robust parameters' estimation procedures for fish stock assessment models arc given. Possible approaches to combine merits of specially constructed robust minimization procedures for fish stock assessment models parameters' estimation and merits (in respect of objective combination of information from different sources) of maximization of traditional likelihood functions are proposed.
