The Russian Federation is a member of 24 multilateral organizations and 62 intergovernmental arrangements encompassing 46 countries engaged in multifaceted fisheries cooperation, including research activities in fish-stock evaluation and the rational exploitation of aquatic bioresources. These numbers are backed by intensive teamwork between employees at the Centre for International Cooperation in Fisheries and their colleagues from VNIRO and other agencies. The Centre’s scientific activities focus on international cooperation under the international organizations of the Atlantic, South, Pacific and Arctic basins, as well as other international projects featuring the participation of Russian scientists.
The Centre encompasses laboratories of the Pacific and Atlantic basins, as well those of the Arctic and Antarctic.
