Born on may 27, 1953.

In 1975 he graduated from the Kaliningrad technical Institute of fishing industry and economy (CHIRP, now KSTU), specializing in "ichthyologist-a fish breeder".

In 1975-1977 - engineer in the Pacific management of fishing and research fleet. He took part in sea expeditions to the North Pacific ocean: sea of Japan, Bering sea, hall. Alaska and the Pacific coast of Canada and the United States.

In 1978-1984 he is a Junior researcher at TINRO.

In 1984-1988-senior researcher at the laboratory of biological resources of the North Pacific TINRO.

In 1988 – 1991 - Deputy Director of TINRO for raw biological research.

In 1991 – 1993 - head of the sector of ichthyoplankton in the laboratory of the biological resources of the Kuroshio.

In 2002 – 2018 - leading researcher, head of the laboratory, Deputy Director for research, first Deputy Director of VNIRO.

From October 2018 to the present - Director of scientific work of VNIRO.

He was awarded the certificate of Honor of Rosrybolovstvo (2003), the sign "Honorary worker of fisheries of Russia" (2006), the certificate of Honor of the Ministry of agriculture of Russia and nominal hours (2007), has the Gratitude of the Government of the Russian Federation (2010), the Gratitude of Rosrybolovstvo (2011), as well as the medal "For merits in the development of fisheries of Russia" II degree (2013). Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin № 512 dated October 24, 2017 awarded the honorary title "Honored worker of fisheries of the Russian Federation".
