Activities for the release of aquatic biological resources

On October 14 and November 12, 2024, employees of the Altai branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), as part of the Commission monitoring the implementation of work on the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources, carried out on-site events to ensure control over the release of juvenile carp into the Ob River within the boundaries of the Altai Territory.

The Commission also included representatives of the Verkhneobsky Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fisheries of the Altai Department of State Control, Supervision and Protection of Aquatic Bioresources and their Habitat, employees of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Glavrybvod".

The members of the Commission carried out an inventory of the quantitative and qualitative condition of juvenile carp released into the water body, followed by the preparation of relevant acts. In order to compensate for the damage caused by economic entities to aquatic biological resources and their habitat, more than 129 thousand specimens of juvenile carp (with an average individual weight of 21 g) were released into the water bodies of the Altai Territory in 2024.

Compensatory measures for the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources are an important tool for the conservation and restoration of aquatic biological resources in the region.
