Analysis of catches of amateur fishermen

In May-June, at the Votkinsk Reservoir (Perm Territory) and water bodies of the Republic of Bashkortostan, employees of the Perm branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) analyzed the catches of amateur fishermen.
 
34 people were interviewed at the Votkinsk reservoir, and 46 people at water bodies of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
 
During observations, amateur fishermen were asked questions about the number of fishing trips and their duration.
 
About half of the fishermen surveyed use a float rod, the other half use a bottom rod. Fishing rods are usually equipped with 2 hooks, less often - 1.
 
At the Votkinsk Reservoir, the catches mainly included the following fish species: ide (202-287 mm long, weighing 211-600 g), bream (237-272 mm long, weighing 260-427 g), perch (150-172 mm long , weighing 59-120 g), roach (132-164 mm long, weighing 38-110 g), ruff (105-122 mm long, weighing 22-27 g), bleak (113-148 mm long, weighing 16-40 G).
 
In catches in water bodies of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the most frequently noted catches were: perch (135-236 mm long, weighing 35-265 g), silver crucian carp (123-203 mm long, weighing 60-293 g), roach (118-190 g long) mm, weighing 25-134 g), ruff (length 95-117 mm, weighing 15-24 g), bleak (length 118-142 mm, weighing 21-36 g). 40% of recreational fishermen had no catches of fish.
