Anniversary of the Tyumen branch of VNIRO

On February 1, a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Tyumen branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) was held in the Great Hall of the Government of the Tyumen Region.

The honorary guests of the meeting were the director of VNIRO, Doctor of Economic Sciences Kirill Kolonchin, Deputy Governor of the Tyumen Region, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Complex of the Tyumen Region Vladimir Cheymetov, representatives of industry organizations, higher educational institutions, the Government of the Tyumen Region, as well as veterans of the branch.
 
Opening the ceremonial meeting, Vladimir Cheymetov welcomed the participants and noted that the experience accumulated in recent years will be successfully used by young and promising followers. Noting the importance of VNIRO’s work, he wished all employees of the Tyumen branch further confident progress and success in their work.
 

The Tyumen region has always been, is and will be an interested partner in the development of the fishing industry and will do everything possible to ensure that the next generation has a rich assortment of fish on the table, and the reproduction of resources is carried out as planned,” - emphasized Vladimir Cheymetov.
 
Welcoming the audience, the director of VNIRO noted the important role of the Tyumen branch in working on the country’s freshwater bodies. Coordinating numerous studies over a vast territory from the Urals to Yakutia, the Tyumen branch conducts year-round comprehensive observations of water bodies and studies the state of aquatic biological resources in an area covering 2/3 of our Motherland.
 
“Today, for us, the Tyumen branch is an example of how to organize work, how to move forward, how to modernize our technical equipment, how to educate and attract young people to work, and how to solve problems that determine the development of the fishing industry,” - noted Kirill Kolonchin.
 
Deputy Director of VNIRO - head of the branch Evgeniy Darinov made a report on the history of the Tyumen branch of VNIRO, its current work and development plans.
 
Deputies of the Tyumen Regional Duma Vladimir Kovin and Vladimir Fomin, the chief federal inspector for the Tyumen region Dmitry Kuzmenko, the director of the department of industry of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Kirill Zaitsev, the head of the representative office of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in the Tyumen Region Andrey Koval, the rector of the State Agrarian University of the Northern Trans-Urals Elena Boyko and Rector of Tyumen State University Ivan Romanchuk.
 
The solemn event ended with a ceremony of awarding employees and veterans of the Tyumen branch with industry awards for impeccable professional activities and achievements in the field of fisheries science.
