Aspects of development of the fisheries complex of the Rostov region were discussed at the Ministry of Agriculture

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the regional Legislative Assembly, the Black Sea-Azov Sea Department of Rosprirodnadzor, the Azov-Black Sea territorial administration of Rosrybolovstvo, the Border Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Rostov Region and fishermen's associations.

 

Fisheries science was presented at the meeting by the deputy head of the Azov-Black Sea branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) V.N. Belousov, the head of the scientific direction of the branch - L.A. Bugayev, the head of the laboratory of artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources - A.A. Pavlyuk and the leading researcher - N.L. Khizhnyakova.

 

One of the main issues of discussion was the development of aquaculture in the Rostov Region. Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region - Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Nature Management, Land Relations and Cossack Affairs V. N. Vasilenko noted that the region consistently maintains a leading position in the country and first place in the Southern Federal District in the production of commercial fish. It is carried out in three main areas - pond, industrial and pasture fish farming. The total volume by the end of 2024 was 28.5 thousand tons.

 

Head of the scientific direction of the Azov-Black Sea branch of VNIRO Leonid Bugayev in his speech emphasized the importance of building treatment facilities near water bodies, where an increase in the concentration of pollutants was most often recorded. He noted that this measure is necessary to prevent the occurrence of freezing phenomena of aquatic biological resources.

 

During the meeting, the issue of regulating fisheries in the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of ​​Azov and the feasibility of amending the Fishing Rules for the Azov-Black Sea fishery basin was also raised. The position of the Azov-Black Sea branch of VNIRO on this issue was presented by Natalia Khizhnyakova, leading researcher of the branch.
