Business trip to Tula region

As part of the state assignment, from July 22 to 26, specialists from the laboratory of aquatic biological resources of the freshwater fisheries branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) conducted research to determine the categorization of water bodies in the Tula region: tributaries of the Shat, Oka, Turdey, and Shatets rivers.

The specialists collected information to determine the categories of water bodies of fishery importance (description of water bodies and features of extraction (catch) of aquatic biological resources (ABR), accounting for the breeding grounds, wintering, mass fattening and migration of ABR living in them).

During field work for each water body, information was obtained on the shape and width of the valley, the presence of a floodplain, the nature of the surface and the depth of flooding, the characteristic depths of the river bed, the composition of the ichthyofauna, as well as the state of the coastline.

The information obtained will serve as the basis for determining the categories of water bodies of fishery importance.
