Employees of the Yakut branch of VNIRO conducted research into the state of the habitat of aquatic bioresources of Lake Nidzhili

From July 16 to 22, employees of the Yakut branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) carried out monitoring work in the largest lake in Yakutia - Nidzhili.

The lake, with an area of 119 km2, is located in the Kobyaisky district. Industrial fishing of crucian carp is carried out in the lake. The maximum catch was recorded in 1985 and 1988, and amounted to 345 tons, in 2023 - 52 tons. In recent years, the population of crucian carp in Nidzhili has been declining, due to the pressure of active predatory forms - pike and perch.

To assess the state of the habitat and aquatic bioresources of Lake Nidzhili, work was carried out using the PanCor hydroacoustic system and oxygen measurements were taken.
