Expedition trip to Krasnoturinskoye Reservoir and the Lyalya River

From August 28 to 30, the staff of the Ural branch of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), carried out an expedition to the Krasnoturinskoye Reservoir and the Lyalya River.
 
Hydrobiological samples were collected to assess the food supply and scientific research fishing of ichthyological material was carried out to determine the composition of the ichthyofauna and biological characteristics of fish populations.
 
The Krasnoturinskoye Reservoir is a reservoir on the Turya River, in the city of Krasnoturinsk in the Sverdlovsk Region. It was created in 1942 for the Bogoslovsky Aluminum Plant. It is a source of industrial, domestic and public water supply and a recreational reservoir.
 
The Lyalya River (in the upper reaches of Poludennaya Lyalya) is a mountain taiga river in the Sverdlovsk Region, and is a right tributary of the Sosva River.
 
The current speed is up to 0.4 m/s. The length of the watercourse is 242 km, and the area of ​​the basin is 7430 km². In the lower and middle reaches it meanders and abounds in oxbow lakes, the banks are swampy in places. The city of Novaya Lyalya is 165 km from the mouth, and the village of Staraya Lyalya is 106 km away.
