During the field work, monitoring was carried out to determine the biological state of the ichthyofauna of the reservoir. Temperature conditions, water depth and transparency, and dissolved oxygen levels were measured. Hydrobiological samples were selected for subsequent laboratory analysis: phytoplankton, zooplankton, zoobenthos.
Ruffs and perches are part of the native ichthyofauna of the South Ural Reservoir. In addition to them, the reservoir is inhabited by roach, crucian carp, pike, and tench.
